Educating the skills of working with a telescope and navigation in the starry sky
Assembly, alignment, tuning, telescope training. Navigating the starry sky, synchronizing the telescope by two or three stars
The main difficulty in observing is to prepare the telescope for work and to understand the functions of its individual elements.
What affects the weight of the tripod, what ensures the smoothness and softness of the fine adjustment knobs (if any), what eyepiece gives the magnification to see the desired object on the ground or in the sky? It is necessary to read the manual and follow its instructions. This is to avoid mistakes during assembly and in some cases not to break the telescope at all.
How to assemble and set up your telescope
Assembly of a telescope begins with the installation of a tripod under the observer and preferably on the level indicator, it is especially important for electromechanical mounts with a function of guiding and autotracking objects. Further it is necessary to fix the head of the mount according to the instruction. If it is an equatorial mount, you need to bring it into indifferent equilibrium with the optimal position of the tube in the rings relative to the counterweights. This will allow you not to overload the worm gear and smoothly guide the object when working with the knobs or the remote control. Observations begin by setting an eyepiece with a long focal length, it gives a minimum magnification and a large field of view.
Collimation, telescope alignment
Collimation or alignment is the stepwise procedure of adjusting the required position of the optical elements relative to the directional axis to ensure accuracy and correctness of their interaction. Mirror and mirror-lens telescopes or so-called Newtonian, Maksutov-Schmidt-Kassegren telescope schemes are subject to alignment. When observing under good conditions with an open telescope, instead of planets you will see cloudy, too bright or dark spots, with strong openings – shifted or double images, i.e. the stars will have a foggy tail or halo away from the center.
An experts of our have a many years hand-on experience based on knowledges suitable for solving such kind tasks and provoding correct adjusted work ofdifferent type telecopes. You will be taught base level sucesfull observbations (ex. how to how to navigate by the stars and work with maps). Telescope alignment via 1-3 stars (Star Align), time and coordinate and time settings are being provided. Remote control firmware could be updated up to latest version if it necessary.
